Aard was a Kaldane, he was an outcast in Kaldane society for loving another, the Kaldane Saar. He and the man-turned-ape Tal Tarag planned together to try and retrieve their loved ones who had been taken from them by the Kaldane king Taak. Unfortunately it was not meant to be, Saar had "her" brain placed in the body of Tal Tarag's love, and this permanently disfigured her body, leaving no hope for either to ever be the person they once were. Aard met his end when Taak used his mental power to call Aard to him, and slay him.
