Adanna was an ancient martian woman who loved Zhuvan D'ark. She sacrificed herself so the dark gods would grant him power, then her remains were buried beneath a tree. When Zhuvan D'ark resurfaced he attempted to resurrect his love by giving her the flesh of Dejah Thoris. Kantos Kan, Grogg, and Tars Tarkas managed to kill him, thankfully reversing the process.
