The Sunday strips written and drawn by Edgar Rice Burroughs son, John Coleman Burroughs, although some sources claim the strip was written by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The comics were posted from 1941 to 1943, apparently only running in four Sunday newspapers. The strip apparently shares some artwork and story from John Carter of the funnies.
STORY[]
The story begins with John Carter arriving on mars. The story until he escapes the Tharks is very similar to A Princess of Mars. Once he escapes the story deviates considerably. Adventures take John Carter and Dejah Thoris to a city of petrified humans, a lush and beautiful plateau filled with robots, and fighting giant chicken men.
